Pixel Flow has crossed $100M in IAP revenue, becoming the third hybrid casual puzzle game to reach that milestone 🤑
And this is another reminder that puzzles remains the hottest genre in hybrid casual.
Looking at all-time IAP performance, Color Block Jam still sits on the throne with close to $150M in revenue, followed by Screwdom at roughly $120M. Pixel Flow is the newest title to break into the top ranks, but given its current trajectory, it seems likely to challenge both leaders within the next few months.
The publisher landscape is also interesting. Among the all-time top 10 hybrid casual puzzle games, Rollic is still in the lead with 3 titles, while Voodoo and Grand Games each have 2. However, with several rapidly growing titles in their portfolios, this ranking could change in the coming months.
The 2026 leaderboard already hints at this shift. New challengers such as Marble Sort, Yarn Loop, Sand Loop, and Block Out (which still doesn’t have an Android version) are climbing rapidly. Collectively, the top 10 hybrid casual puzzle games generated more than $270M in just the first five months of 2026, compared to around $340M generated by the top 10 during the entirety of 2025.
And this growth highlights just how competitive this space has become.
Similarly, genre dynamics are shifting too. While sort, block, and screw puzzles dominated 2025 with relatively balanced performance, 2026 is shaping up to be the year of sort puzzlers. The category has pulled ahead and is emerging as the clear market leader.
As for design trends, conveyor-belt puzzles continue to gain momentum, with publishers releasing their own variations at a rapid pace. We are also seeing growing influence from trends sparked by games like Arrows, Jigsolitaire, and Solitaire Association Journey, all of which are inspiring new puzzle mechanics and hybrid casual concepts.
So, its clear that hybrid casual puzzle market is not slowing down anytime soon. Which publisher do you think will create the next breakout hit in the genre?
