Butcher Hero

Butcher Hero is an idle arcade RPG by Multicast Games, released in October 2025, and it has scaled to $100K+ in daily IAP revenue, according to AppMagic.

This game comes from the studio behind Alien Invasion ($39M in IAP revenue), and interestingly, it’s the same game as their previous title, Devour Idle RPG ($2M IAP revenue), except the slime has been replaced with a butcher.

Familiar Core
The game uses a familiar idle arcade loop but layers RPG progression on top. Players travel around, defeat different enemies, and gradually become stronger. Different enemy groups require specific high-damage weapons, adding some strategy beyond simply brute-forcing your way through. Additionally, the game also adds exploration elements, such as hidden paths leading to chests and a minimap that makes navigation easier.

Grindy Progression
The early game starts relatively slowly, but progression gradually opens up as players unlock more islands and systems. Resources have their own cooldowns, initially starting short but becoming increasingly longer, creating a progression barrier. To further drive engagement, there is a lightweight, narrative-driven quest system, though these can also become repetitive. As players reach the 4th island, the game unlocks League Events. These time-limited events challenge players to defeat bosses, climb through leagues, and earn better rewards, helping to drive further engagement.

Hybrid Monetization
The game monetizes through both IAA and IAP. RV ads appear roughly every 3 minutes, offering different stat progression rewards that players can claim. The in-game shop also provides daily free rewards for each stat, while additional rewards require gems. Gems act as the game’s hard currency and can be purchased through IAPs. Spending also feeds into a VIP system, with players earning VIP points from IAPs. Additionally, higher VIP tiers unlock additional rewards, creating another layer of long-term spending incentives.

Butcher Hero also has an upcoming Steam release, so it’ll be interesting to see how its successful mobile formula translates to PC.

Small tip: Struggling with a tougher enemy? Bring them back to the health fountain and fight them there.
